OUR NEST
Interactive Installation + Performance for ‘Floriade Little Day Out’
Ainslie and Gorman Arts Center, Canberra. Made in collaboration with theatre-maker Kitty Malam.
‘Our Nest’ is an interactive facilitated installation and performance.
Children will be invited to inhabit the world and mind of the bird, creating a larger collaborative nest as a home.
. Made with the help of the kids and families from recycled and recyclable materials, the nest serves as an image of how we can nurture sustainable spaces as a larger metaphor for the way we care about our earth and community.
Facilitated by two “builder birds”, the children will be encouraged through child-led play practices to collect items for the nest and sing the sounds of spring.
